Most star pendants are a solid silver silhouette with a stone dropped in the middle. This one is built the other way round: five kite cut stones are claw set point outward, and the silver only shows as the claws and the thin spine that joins them at the center. The result is a star that is almost entirely stone, so it throws light from every arm rather than one facet.
It measures 18 mm across, which is large enough to be read as a star at conversation distance but still light at 4.25 g including the chain. The bail is fixed rather than swiveling, so the star faces forward instead of turning edge on through the day.
