The moon is 14 x 18 mm and opens to one side like a letter C. Its outer curve carries a single row of stones while the inner edge stays plain and polished, so it catches the light without looking busy. The chain is fixed to the moon at two points, which keeps it upright and facing forward. A little higher up on one side, a 5.5 mm pave star hangs on its own ring.
