Photo Locket Necklaces

A Locket with a Picture Inside, the Classic Way

Unlike projection pendants that reveal an image only against light, a photo locket shows the printed picture the moment it opens — the keepsake format families have passed down for generations. The picture is physically inside the pendant: printed on thin photo stock, cut to the shape of that design's opening, and fitted behind the cover.

The two formats answer different wishes. A locket is for a photo you want to keep private and open on purpose. A projection pendant looks like plain jewelry until you shine a phone flash through the stone. Prefer the hidden-image style instead? Browse necklaces with a picture inside for projection designs, or see both formats together in photo jewelry.

How Your Photo Gets Into the Locket

You upload your photo on the product page and drag it into place — you see right away how it sits inside the pendant's opening. Zoom, rotate, and crop until the face sits where you want it; the position you set on screen is the crop we print from.

Every photo we receive is checked by a person before production. If a file is too small, too dark, or cropped so tightly that the face would be cut off by the locket's opening, we email you and ask for a different one rather than printing it.

Then we print it at the size of that design's opening, fit it behind the cover, and close the locket. It reaches you finished — nothing to trim, fit, or assemble. Designs that hold two are fitted with both. The cover opens and closes so you can look at the print whenever you like; it is fitted to stay in place rather than to be changed later, so choose a picture you will want to keep.

Already have an empty or heirloom locket at home? Our free locket photo maker crops a picture to its heart, oval or round frame and prints it at true size, ready to cut out.

Choosing Your Locket Shape

The heart locket is the most-gifted shape — a natural fit for wives, moms, and daughters. The oval locket frames portrait photos the way a tiny picture frame would, and the tree-of-life design adds a symbol of family and roots around the hidden photo. Selected designs add a birthstone setting, pairing her photo with her birth month; engraving is offered on selected designs too.

Shape is one half of the choice; the metal is the other. This range is available in 925 sterling silver as well as stainless steel, and it also includes copper, brass, and alloy designs — they differ in weight, in color warmth, and in how they age. The exact material for each design is listed on its product page. Read that line before you order rather than judging by the photograph: a silver-tone finish and solid sterling silver look much the same on screen.

Heart, Oval, or Tree of Life: Which Locket Shape?

All three open to a printed, sealed photo — the shape is about her taste, not the function. Engraving is offered on selected designs. Want the photo on show rather than hidden? Custom heart necklaces cover that side, and the motif runs through our tree-of-life jewelry.

What to Engrave

Short lines work best on a locket: a name, a date, "always with you." At pendant size, even stroke weight and open letter spacing stay legible; fine hairlines and tight script lose definition first.

Engraving is typed into a field on the product page and cut exactly as you type it — spaces, capitals, and accents included. The lettering is not rendered on screen for you, so read your line back once before you add the piece to the cart. That matters here: because the jewelry is custom-crafted to be as unique as you are, all sales are final on personalized orders.

What that does not cover is our own error. If the engraving does not match what you ordered, or the piece arrives damaged or is the wrong item, we replace it or refund it in full — no postage fees, restocking fees or hidden charges. The full wording is on the returns and exchanges page.

A Keepsake — and Often a Memorial

Many of these lockets are bought to hold the photo of someone being remembered: a parent, a grandparent, a pet. A locket with a picture inside lets that photo stay close without being on display, which is why it remains one of the most chosen sympathy and remembrance gifts.

A number of these designs hold two pictures rather than one, so a memorial locket can pair a portrait with a photo of you together. Some add a birth month stone to the same piece (birthstone jewelry), and the wrist version sits in bracelets with a picture inside.

Photo Locket Questions, Answered

What metal are your photo lockets made of?
This range is available in 925 sterling silver as well as stainless steel, and it also includes copper, brass, and alloy designs. The exact material for each design is listed on its product page.

How does the photo get inside the locket?
You upload it when ordering and position the crop yourself. A person then checks the file, and we print it at the size of that design's opening, fit it behind the cover, and close the locket before it ships. It arrives finished, with nothing for you to assemble.

Is the photo in a locket waterproof?
The print is sealed inside the locket, so everyday wear is fine. Take it off for swimming and showers — that protects both the print and the metal.

What kind of photo works best?
A sharp, well-lit photo with the face filling the frame. We crop and fit it to the locket for you, and if it will not hold up at pendant size we write to you first.

Can one locket hold two photos?
A number of these designs do. Where a design takes two, both are printed and fitted before sealing.

Can I return a photo locket?
Returns and exchanges run to 60 days from the date you receive your order. Personalized pieces are excluded — all sales are final on made-for-you items — but anything that is our mistake is replaced or refunded in full.

Care and Timing

Wipe the locket with a soft dry cloth after wear, keep it clear of perfume and pool water, and store it in a pouch. The sealed print stays crisp. Sterling silver darkens slowly in air and comes back with a polishing cloth; stainless steel holds its color with almost no upkeep.

Lockets are made one at a time and sent tracked. Delivery runs 7–12 business days once the parcel leaves the studio, and the tracking number is emailed to you the day it goes out. Standard shipping is CA$9.95, free on orders over CA$139, and several items ordered together are combined into one parcel. Import duties and taxes are covered by us, so there is nothing to pay on delivery. Full rates and timings are on the delivery and shipping page.
